AIR GEAR FINISHED - Ito "Oh great" Ogure
A new fad by the name of 'Air Treks' (a futuristic evolution of aggressive skating) has swept the nation's youth and all over gangs are being formed that compete in various events using their A-T's. Ikki is a middle-school boy who is the toughest street-fighting punk on the east side of town, on top of that he lives with 4 gorgeous sisters that took him in when he was a kid. But what Ikki doesn't know is that the girls are part of one of the most infamous A-T gangs, 'Sleeping Forest'. It doesn't take long before Ikki finds out about the world of Air Trecks and is propelled into a fate he had not foreseen.
SO that was it! AIR GEAR IS OFFICIALLY OVER!!!! SO IS MY LIFE! no I joked there it really isn't I still have other things to do and people to murder (I joke again) I feel jokey today. Also It's officially finished can you believe it??? Ever since the show and manga came out I was waiting for each chapter with my life and soul. I know what your thinking, why am I writing this now? it's been finished ages ago, I like to remind people that during the last volume I wasn't upto date because of uni! cure Uni! but I had to really focus as I was in 2nd year! hate it but this is the final year which means I need to spend my Summer wisely as I will not be able to watch any anime at all! :O
or read manga I am screwed!!!
SO where was I! Oh yeh Damn you OH GREAT! why did you complete such a beautiful manga. Ok, well to review this quickly, I would like to point out the bad parts, first was the lack of connection to the story. I got confused half way because it was about so many other random people and I had to reread a few times to understand. second, it was a freaking open ending I hate open endings! LOL although it was a weird kind of ending meaning it showed of things we wanted to see, kind of with the group and all. but it also ended with a battle in between. and lastly it was rushed you could tell it was. I dont know if he was ill or couldn't be bothered no more but it could have ended more epically. Honestly would have been the best manga if he had done it more properly but I'm not complaining as in it's finished end off. I should be happy but somehow I'm not, I wish there was more to it. I really did!
The end battle really got me, I liked how ikki was determined to finish this with no questions. Although at some parts it made me laugh thinking wow he can get back up even at this power. I liked the duo work of Ringo and Ikki now that was BEAUTIFUL! and before anyone kills me yes I am a IkkixRingo fan. But I always likes Kururu and Ikki as well, except the only problem was I think kururu finally realised the love was admiration? well to me it looked like it was admiration, which in a way is the same with Ringo too but I wouldn't say it was literally in your face admiration. It was more lenient to the love side, as a sibling but also a lover. Even when she kissed him it was shown that she really did love him during each others battles. But ikki was too stupid xD haha!
The battles were immense, I loved the drawings it blew me away. Ok i got tired of the boobie and butt shots but still I think the women were really powerful in this anime. like equal between men and the women. That was heavenly at some point I hated I really did when they showed of the ones who died etc. and when Kilik had died that made me tearful it really did. I mean that was wrong but it was such a brutal thing it was like, yeh ride or die. Which was good in many ways during battles but that was the last one. and it irked me, I should be surprised i mean alot of good peoples either got battered or literally dead haha!
I liked the reference to sleeping forest! ALOT! I thought that was amazing, to think there is a group of everything it was like kogaramasu! I mean they all sucked at first but each of them found a style of their own! which is what I loved about the show! the rookie being the best meant learning along the way some even lost and got damaged too but it was wonderful watching and reading things like that.
So overall if you havent read it do so you wont be disappointed, except maybe half way when it makes no sense. But honestly speaking I really loved it, funny witty and deliciously juicy! :D
