Synopsis ~
The dark fantasy
follows a high school sophomore named Akihito Kanbara. Although the boy appears
human, he is half youmu and invulnerable to wounds because he can heal quickly.
One day, Akihito meets freshman Mirai Kuriyama when it seems she is about to
jump from the school rooftop. Mirai is isolated because of her ability to
manipulate blood, which is unique even among members of the spirit world.
Disturbing events begin to unfold after Akihito saves Mirai.

Before I start this is my personal opinion of course, I don’t
think anyone will agree to it but for me its what I enjoyed. The story is like
a train ride, slow at first before it gradually runs its course and then stops.
So from what I can write about this its my humble opinion of it, the story
itself was adapted from a light novel and from I experienced not all light
novels get great adaptations so for me this is a good as it got.

What I enjoyed about this Anime was the interesting plot
of this show. There is something about this that caught my eyes; the story
itself was what got me interested. I liked that it was exploring many ideas
with this, and how few characters were present due to all that went around. I
liked the idea of demons and humans getting together. I liked that Akihito is
the main character who had a very vulnerable yet powerful side to him.
For me the characters were not overly dramatized but good
enough. I liked the connection between Akihito and his friends but they all
lacked character development for me. Because it was short it didn’t cover
everything we wanted to know, it was like a quick rush of explanation which
could have developed slowly with more drama. But that’s my opinion. Although I
do love Akihito and Mirai’s connection towards each other I thought it was what
made the show to be honest.
Mirai for a main character was a ball of worries but she
was still badass, I liked her quirky side and her stupid side. She hid a lot
but didn’t reveal too much but for the show it was too quick at the end which
was disappointing but what can you do.
The music has got to be my favourite; I enjoyed every
part of it! I don’t mind what people say about it but for me it gripped me in a
lot. I loved the opening and endings to it and it made it more bearable when
they crossed over the episodes at the end.
The art works amazing, what can you expect from Kyoto
animation, such fluidity and of course the scenary were breathtaking. The
colours although dark was exceptional I don’t think I will get tired of it if I
saw it again. I thought the action
scenes were the best they were very vast and really entertaining.
Dopes dislikes ~
There were a lot of inconsistent issues with the storyline
there was many unanswered questions and so forth. They weren’t developed enough
and I didn’t expect that it would consider the episodes and all. There is more
but you know every Anime has flaws! They could have gone more in depth with the
beyond the boundary side of the part!
Dopes Concludes ~
So overall, I really enjoyed this Anime for me it was
great entertainment. I won’t lie I did get heartfelt at some scenes with Mirai.
I felt her loneliness and I felt her determination and her secrecy I also loved
the scenes with her and Akihito. How they bonded and when they ended the
episode itself, I found that beautiful. The saddest scene for me was seeing her
go and Akihito not understanding, there is always a huge presence missing when
you been with someone so long and they suddenly go. So I know a lot of people won’t agree, but
for a visual novel turned Anime I practically liked it. Although a lot of
people will say “How unpleasant” the show itself was. For me it was gold, I
will be watching again. It didn’t leave me empty feeling like most good Animes do,
although a lot of good shows get bashing but you know it’s not up to my
expectations but it was worth watching I never regretted it!

Synopsis ~

just lets his power run amuck and things begin to get worse. Ruri raised her
gemstone in order to release his true abilities, My Soul I give to you.
With Ruri's wishes
engraved in it, will Alma be able to defeat the Dark Stone?

is a whole lot going in the first episode that gets you thinking wow! Ruri
tries to recruit Alma so they can get the power to defeat the dark stone
creatures.
Dopes likes ~
I like the plotline, that is what interested me in the
first place. But you realise how rushed the show itself is and you wonder why
bother. But I honestly feel that it could have developed a bit more than just
what they showed us. It was interesting till they rushed it which was sad
because it had potential!
I wasn’t keen on the characters but I didn’t mind ti
either. I was really happy to see Alma and Ruri and the butler all together
they were cute. I was just surprised to see the weird gem stone insertion on
Alma that made me laugh a bit. It looked so strange and out of place but
overall I wouldn’t delve too much into the show for characters because it did
lack.
The music itself was great, they took care of that. I was
in fact infatuated with the songs in the series which was good enough for me as
it made the show decent.
Next to the Art of course! The visuals were really good I
really enjoyed them! I thought that was getting me into the show and it was,
the characters didn’t match up to my expectation.
Dopes Dislikes ~
Characters were not well thought through they were pretty
bland, the typical shounen and the only back-story of was of the butler and Ruri
there wasn’t any of anyone else. It was strange and just didn’t do well. I
didn’t think much of it but I wasn’t too sure why they couldn’t have made it
longer and developed it. It just showed the manufactured characters which
showed off the image rather go in depth with it.
There was too much going on at once that it had more than
a few flaws I was quite disappointed in that.

Surprisingly sacred seven was still watchable, I wasn’t
surprised but I wasn’t heavily impressed either. I thought it could have
developed more and had more care into it. The visuals for me were a highlight,
the enjoyment of the show could have boosted a bit more as some episodes were
bland and it wasn’t right. I had high expectations for it but you know it all
depends on you I think because of my high expectations I failed to see the
whole point of the show and didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped for. It is
honestly a very easy to follow Anime with no twists and turns but a simple good
vs evil. It could be compared to Scryed or even Tiger&Bunny but honestly it
doesn’t live up to those two Animes at all. But I wouldn’t say don’t watch it
because to be honest it’s still watchable if you like it a bit messed up. IT could have honestly done so much better but
it didn’t!

Synopsis ~
The story revolves around Kinjirō Sakamachi, a 17-year-old

discovers that the popular and handsome butler Subaru Konoe is in fact a girl.
Now that Kinjirō knows about Subaru's secret, he must work together with Subaru
and her sadistic mistress, Kanade Suzutsuki, to protect Subaru's secret from
being discovered.

What I thought would be a good Harem it kind of deflated for
me. I was surprised to see such a weak Anime. I had high hopes that got
thrashed by it. The story is about Sakamichi discovers one of his classmates is
a girl rather than a guy and then the adventures follow.
Dopes likes ~
What I did enjoy was the animation which was for me really
good, it was vibrant and colourful. I was very amused at some scenes but not a
lot at all as well.
The characters Kinjiro who has gynophobia due to his sisters
and mothers abuse, is awkward in a small sense. It’s about Kinjiro who likes
Subaru (cross dresser) who doesn’t give him the time of day. It develops a
romcom from there which tries to develop but seems lacking.
From what I see it’s a good show, but it didn’t have much to
expand on for me. The characters were there but not interesting in some ways.
There were a few but for it me it just didn’t get me excited.
Of course its different for other people.
I enjoyed the music I wouldn’t say it was my taste but it was
still good that it retained the style throughout.
Dopes dislikes ~
I didn’t flow with the story I wasn’t really keen on the
plot as much as I would have liked. I was thinking there will be a lot of
hilarious shenanigans but there wasn’t many to be told for. It lacked a lot of
innovation and character development for me.
Dopes Conclude ~
Overall I can’t say much about this Anime, but it’s not
so bad as I portray it. It’s worth a watch it won’t go up to your watch list
twice but it will be there as a seen this done that kind of feeling. I know
that within the show Mayo Chikki followed the story of a cross dresser which
seems to be growing I guess. Not bad, then you have the, ‘I can’t touch females’
guy which isn’t cool! But overall the jokes inside aren’t so bad either, it’s
like small banter. So don’t mind what I
said, it’s still worth a watch I was just disappointed in some parts but I
wouldn’t cross it out. Like I explained before some visual novels are worth a
watch some aren’t and this probably wasn’t the best but it was good enough.

Karneval, some people literally will think of a circus,
well you’re not far off from it. Except this series handles a lot of majestic
and fantasy themes. It is a very mysterious show that has about 10 volumes
on going still which I need to catch up on of course but let’s dissect it for
now.
Dopes likes ~
What I enjoyed about Karneval is the name let’s be honest
Its written different, it’s also focusing heavily on two characters one being
Nai and other Gareki. Nai is of course the main who happens to be in the show
an animal and not human although he has a human body. Yeah, even I found that a
bit hilarious, it explained a lot about his behavior.
The story isn’t straight forward in fact, it should have
continued but it didn’t. It has a lot of plots where it’s less involved with
Nai and more to do with other people. However character wise I would say that I
really enjoyed all of them in general.
The characters all have a different unique personality,
which are divided in first ship to second ship. Of course are characters which
are main is in the second ship. They
were initially great and had seemed cool but wasn’t in depth.
The art work, I really am very fond of it. I loved the
colours the sparkles the very flashy moments. I really enjoyed Tsukomo’s act at
the beginning with the entire acrobatic feel. What I found cute was they always
do a show for disturbing the city to make it up them. So in reality they are
kind of a circus when you think about it but have hidden agenda behind it. The
visuals of the show are probably the only thing that saved the Anime for me.
The sound is very average, I really found the background
music subtle, it really wasn’t out there and it didn’t really make me feel
much. But I really enjoyed the ending of the song!
Dopes dislikes ~
Again I wasn’t a fan of the 13 episode style, I thought
from a really good Manga like that it could have really expanded but it failed.
The characters are not original when you watch it later on, at first I did
think they were unique but not so much when you realise each of them actually
do have a certain stereotype to it.
Dopes Concludes ~
From what I can say I was heavily expecting that Karneval
would be decent and it was with its visual and fight scenes. But what it lacked
was the plot they couldn’t portray it very well and could have which is quite
sad. Because in the Manga we do really go into depth in the Manga of what
Karneval is about and of course NAI! There is so much that goes on that it
momentarily confuses us! But it is thoroughly enjoyable, so I would recommend
watching a quick tongue in cheek show and not expecting too much like I did at
first. It’s a truly hit and miss show
that you know depends on how you prefer it.
I guess for now I will rely on the Manga to really find out more about
the show! The really part of the Anime was all the BISHOUNEN! I heart most of
them they looked so good!

Sypnosis ~

natures. Decim himself is the ultimate arbitrator of who wins and who loses,
who will go to the void, and who will be reincarnated.

The show is a follow up to
the movie Death Billiards, very controversial. It delves into deeper when they
produced 12 more episodes for it. It’s a promising grey area Anime which people
will like or hate depending on their preference. I am glad to say that I have
very much enjoyed every part of Decim and his adventures that follow through
each episode

So what I have gathered
through Death Parade was the morality of the show, it follows heavily on that. It’s
a show that doesn’t really have a specific arc but expands further through
themes.
The artwork and animation,
yes it’s the most beautifullest thing I have encountered. A theme of blacks,
red and purples only shadows and a few bright colours to throw us off. There are
outstanding details on the features of every character; they really focused on
the aspects of that. The art itself is fluid and smooth even when they do the
CGI it’s done so subtly that it blends in the show so well because there was
few of it. I especially found it mesmerizing when they played the games, the
details they put through to this Anime and the games they play blew my mind. So
creative and amazing that we could simply sympathize with each character as
they play in a darkened room with a few lights.
The characters although I
am amazed by the details they set out for Decim and Onna, I do believe they
forgot that minor characters should have been developed a bit more. But let’s
get to the good point, there was a lot of that Decim is a motionless man who
throughout doesn’t smile or so, having a human companion like Onna helped not
only him find himself through the emotions but kind of deflect what a arbitrary
is supposed to be. “They cannot feel emotions” but yet Decim did. I found it more
humane when I saw characters of all kinds during the play off and how they find
out their deaths incredible to the point of being quite realistic. What we will
do to stay alive is what I kept thinking.
The soundtrack is quite
thrilling, it plays so well during the games that it made the moody Anime even
better. It engrosses you into their world and makes you feel even more of what
they are going through. Mind you the opening does throw you off a bit for being
upbeat but don’t let that fool you for what Death Parade actually is. What was even more amazing was the characters
voices and mannerism, each characters always had a believable approach and
Decim was the most intense of that, he displayed things that showed him off as
a normal bartender but in reality was more than that to pass of judgement.

Overall my only complaint
was the supporting characters could have used a bit more development, if they
didn’t reoccur often it would have been fine but because they did it made me
feel annoyed that they couldn’t get more airtime. I wish it was longer too, it
seemed like a show to progress further, and have a bit more interesting look at
other characters and how they became arbitrary.
Dopes Concludes ~
I am so impressed with
Madhouse they made Death Parade so fluid and so flawless that I cannot
expresses how great this show felt to watch. It pulled me in straight away,
they had the wackiest games plays that helped them with judgement we see alot
of people questioning while watching this and finding out ones true
colours. When I found out majority of
their deaths and how they died I was amazed there was normal to dangerous
themes going on. I am really in love with Decim he seemed like a clueless man
but in reality he knew what he was doing it was so good to watch him. The
ending was surprising to me and made me feel somewhat complete but I wish there
was an alternative to it. So why watch Death Parade well besides getting
different perspectives of the games and characters, you realise how morality
works in this show revealing messages that could or cannot be conveyed. Its
dramatic and very dark its basically everything I really enjoyed in, maybe its
not everyone’s taste but it was really good it got the better emotional side of
me and gave me a reality slap.
Honestly you won’t be
disappointed with Death Parade, I was so happy when it came out now that I had
time to watch it I was not disappointed so unique and fresh that it leaves a
sad feeling behind for me. So make sure you give it a go!

The story isn’t mind blowing which it doesn’t need to be to
be good, it’s unique in a refreshing way. I am a huge fan mangaka Io Sakisaka I
even wrote about Strobe edge in my previous posts a long while back. When I
heard about Ao haru ride I was like I must read, and to be honest it didn’t
fail me at all. I loved every inch of it although downright frustrating in some
parts it was well worth the read.

What I enjoyed most about the story was it wasn’t
complicated, it was about past lovers meeting again in an unpredictable way and
taking it from there. What I really enjoyed was all the characters their
presence in the Manga itself was great, we found a compelling story from all of
that, we also had the typical triangle for two characters and it was really
interesting.
Tanaka, to be honest was a confused young boy with a deep
regret in his life. He was lost but what was great about his character was the
thought process of his. We knew he couldn’t get rid of Futaba but couldn’t keep
her close either he was always confused. So the story progress in a slow way
for him.
Futaba is very headstrong, she never gave up which I loved.
Most shoujo characters did but she did cry a lot, but at least she tried to
move on with Kikuchi which I found amusing because I really loved their
encounter. She made things happen and made effort in alot of things to get
together she made memorable moments and friends and finally got the person she
wanted again through trials.
The side characters were also a very interesting thing to
see where we get to enjoy another side triangle but with a little twist to it.
So it wasn’t at all bad more refreshing in a way!
Music was great in the show! I really enjoyed it was well
put for the show and I wasn’t disappointed at all.
Io Sakisaka's art is probably really cute, I
enjoy all her artwork and manga because of the way it it. I never get tired of
reading it ever!
Dopes Dislikes ~
Besides the odd short
episodes which didn’t clearly show the rest of the Manga. I wasn’t disappointed
with anything else, although I wish it could have added a few OVAS or so! There
was a live action for this Manga and I really didn’t enjoy it, it wasn’t that
good so if you want to be disappointed don’t watch it if you do go for it.

Overall, I would give this
a thumb up for the Manga and the Anime! Although the anime didn’t show more it
was well worth the watch. The atmosphere in the show deciphers a lot compared
to the Manga but no fret! It is worth the read and the watch as it is! Its not the best melodrama but it hits a spot
with the characters back-story and all it’s sweet. I really liked it, so if you
haven’t checked it out make sure you do, or read it if you want to first.

forces of the new King of Kouka.

Before I get to the whole review, I would like to express
how much I really love this series to the world and beyond! I am a huge fan of
this and I am so glad it became an Anime although it was quite short. Yona is a
princess who witnesses something that she shouldn’t have, the man she trusted
became her enemy and now she is on the run with only a legend to help her and
thus her adventures begin.

I am really surprised by the animation of this series, I am
quite happy to announce that the whole point of the Anime is the development of
finding the four dragons. It’s very classy when it comes to the animation let’s
not be surprised by the fluid battle movements as well. The whole anime is so
vibrant with colours that it’s really blinding. Yona’s signature red hair looks
like the flame when she’s around its beautiful.
The sound of this series is by far my favourite; I am in love with the background music of this show. It’s very melodic with violins and very soft and slow sounds when it came to happier or sad moments and when a battle began it was very deep and strong. I am in love with Jae ha’s instrument playing as well shame I couldn’t find a full version of it I would have love to hear it over and over. It’s all very classically inclined of course, you won’t be disappointed if you hear it.

Characters we have Yona, Yun and Hak, including the four dragons each to their own style and ways. The story heavily focuses on the mythological aspect of the show, let alone the guided heroine. Yona who was very much a fragile girl in a disillusioned state after her circumstances. Has grown as a character and her fellow companions have noticed that and was willing to understand the will of her journey. Hak who is her utmost valuable friend is probably the most intrigued as to how the princess has grown from being weak to strong. Her journey with all four dragons could be seen through the show! Her closeness towards the dragons and how they are towards her. Each dragon is very much different and unique yet they care about each other and willingly to go far to save each other. I was very impressed with the development although the Manga goes more in depth with it.
Dopes dislikes ~
Besides being very slow at the beginning of the show, which
can put a lot of people off. It does drag on for a while in the beginning, and
I mean really drag. But none the less it’s not that bad but I would have preferred
if it got to the point in a nice way. What
else I would comment on is the less development of the series because it’s so
short it doesn’t make the show as great as it is with the Manga. So far what we
experience is the introduction of everyone and then switches to the more
continued story which should have developed in course of time but didn’t
because of the episodes. Such a shame because the story progresses to something
amazing later on! We also get character development and also back stories!

Besides all this, the Manga is still on going and is very
much getting very interesting! WE are getting somewhere with it! It’s so far
explained the whole point of the series, besides the Anime who only showed off
the start of a journey with the four dragons, Akatsuki no Yona has everything
you want, humour, action and a story. Although slow but it’s much better if you
read the Manga to find out the more seriousness of the show and also romance, I
know people complained where the romance was the shame was that it isn’t in the
Anime but in the Manga more. You will not be disappointed if you do watch this,
I very much enjoyed it they are all very well balanced. The characters are
decent and very loveable I can’t choose who my favourite is but I would love to
point out that Shin-Ha and his chipmunk is so freaking adorable!

Synopsis ~

a lot more often once she starts school because... he's her homeroom teacher?!

So its not the most original story you can every
produce for a shoujo, I was hesitant when I read it at first back then it was
only 3 chapters but I finally found time to complete I did not regret it. I
thoroughly enjoyed it. Love isn’t a simple thing in fact a lot of people cannot
describe it in real terms but their own way what they experience. So we follow
Suzume Yosano on her journey of her first love to her second!

What I enjoyed about the story was although slow
progress and unnecessary angst of a triangle. It was a really interesting
journey for Suzume who not only found her true love but through hardships and
heart breaks we found a very great way to see how she expressed them.
I even thought the spare characters had a very
beneficial effect on Suzume’s presence and the way they came towards her slowly.
We got to see how she develops those friendships and relationships towards
these
characters and how they played the huge role in
the story.
It’s not so serious but it’s got a handful of
comedy to it as well which is what made the story bearable.

dislikes ~
Well I didn’t hate anything, love was painful to
see for a 15 year old like her, not only did she end up loving a grown ass man
who kept running away. There wasn’t much of a dislikes in the story for me I
really liked the baddies or the ones interfering I thought it made the story
worthwhile. Although I did get annoyed with the teachers presence a lot and
what he said so hmm..

The overall art is amazing; I found it sweet and
soft. I thought the way it was portrayed had a huge effect on the story.
Although Suzume looked kind of strange at times I had to admit I was a huge fan
of the guy’s drawings they art for them made it worthwhile. I liked the
storyline it wasn’t so predictable an I found it really good how even though
her first love didn’t work out her second was willing to process well. I was
glad who she chose in the end, we all knew that secondary characters especially
male ones in the stories never get the girl but this one did. So if you haven’t
read it give it a try it’s short and simply sweet.

Synopsis~
Momiji is an average girl until the day she finds she is the descendant of the great Kushinada family. Only she, with her Kushinada blood, can stop the Aragami, demonic plant-like monsters threatening to destroy Japan. Along to help her is the TAC, and a possible love interest in a young man named Kusanagi.

Ok Blue seed is a bad ass Anime that people
don’t seem to recognize; to me it’s similar to 3x3 eyes! It’s a very cool
storyline that really explains everything so smoothly shame not a lot of people
know of it or have but don’t mention it because it’s so worth mentioning and so
underrated! The story of the Kushinada girls and the Aragamis, Momiji a 16year
old girl is intended to be sacrificed to appease the creatures.
Blue seed 2 continues from season 1 but
follows a girl called Valencia who has a magatama seed like Kusanagi and how
the Aragamis are back and how TAC are solving problems it was short and sweet.
Dopes rates –
Ok so the story is great! It’s a very
wonderful storyline which deals with the Aragami created by the yamato no orochi,
you got the plot, you got the characters then you got the delivery! The
animation to me was amazing I love the style its old but it’s definitely got
wonderful lines towards it, I love the colours and scenery was on point!
The characters they were all good which
blended in with another. I believe Momiji was the headstrong and whiny
character who fell in love with Kusanagi who is a very indecisive man but he
can’t help it as he was cursed he protected Kaede and failed so he wanted to
make it up with Momiji. Then you got Kaede the sister who abandoned life,
everyone thinking she died but in reality she didn’t. Then you got the guys in
the TAC the boss, the nerd, the scientist, the secretary and then the gun
lover! It all blended in they all complimented each other.
Then in blue seed 2 you got the same
characters but Valencia, a girl with a magatama seed, who is the only female to
have it. It was interesting seeing their reaction to that and of course Momiji
was jealous as hell but they didn’t make it more interesting with it which was
a shame. It ended with a sweet note though.
The music for me was a plus point! I am in
love with Takada band and Megumi Hayashibara I grew up to their music! So for
me it was great to see a awesome combo let’s not forget that 3x3 eyes also had
similar music from them and are similar so its even better. I was surprised to
see how well it suited the scenes, and the insert song for Momiji’s final part
was sweet and quite sad too so I was happy for it. Blue seed 2 is the same again
their music was on point it was well produced and worked well with the show! I
still have their music on my ipod!
Dopes dislikes ~
What’s interesting is blue seed 2! Which
was also a little spin off from the first season I was super happy to watch it again
then realized how bad season 2 was because it didn’t live up to my expectation.
It didn’t continue on for more episodes it was too short. I would have wanted a
bit more but the first season was pretty good however they really didn’t follow
the short Manga at all! Because Momiji wasn’t a whiny character or really ditzy
she was actually a badass!
Dopes conclusion –
Overall this was a great show, I don’t
really care what people say because it is one of the stories which stayed with
me over the years because it was really good. I remember watching it first time
thinking wow because I was never so interested in an Anime so much like that
just like 3x3 eyes! So for me this was a great rewatch and I just wanted to
express it! Make sure you read the small Manga which is good but the show
itself kind of brings out the characters and story a bit more so make sure to
give it a go! Still one of favourites I wish there was more!
