PostHeaderIcon High school of the dead - Daisuke Sato

So here it is, the long awaited review I held of for this anime, wasnt going to write about HOTD because its so mainstream someone else must have done it. But then I thought why not just add my thoughts on it and don't worry it may be harsh but it's also something to like as well.

So this Teen Zombie fest is 12 episodes long with a OVA, the series is about the zombie Apocalypse which I think everyone can recognize already. It's a short review so here I go!

Let me start of by saying, I am a zombie fan I watched all movies and drama's that consist of zombies. This anime is the same with me, it showed of the fun and sillyness of the zombie world. It was cliched and not really there for a storyline. It was more like a survival game to me, but no worries I think alot of people wrote about how it disappointed them. I disagree and agree why because first of all right into the first episode I thought yeah it's where it will begin soon. We see that awkward zombie getting into the school and someone shooting it and then BAM its there in school all of it and the students try to run.

It was amusing it was all funny to me, I always find zombie related stuff funny the way they walk, look and talk with their mumbling. So I didnt give a damn if it was cliched or not, I wasn't caring at all that it was similar to every other zombie related movies or shows. It was just a animated version that's all and they did a banging good job at it. That is what I thought of course, I mean hence the reaction I had they got the horror and gore hands down and I really loved that. Because I love a bit of gore in my animes haha.

It had a bittersweet ending to the first episode, animation is awesome so 3D 'ish  which was awesome. The plot line was awol but it was there to enjoy not to make it look serious. It was something different and you need something different this was it, not your typical comedy or romance or action it was just something really different and I kinda understand why people loved it.
Characters were all sought out and I really enjoyed it. Although I do think it was like a B rated movie with the soft porn style which isn't so bad but it just made me laugh how would you take it seriously if you see this?

Although once again not sure why people really made it sound like it was the BEST of the best? So it did kind of confused me.

However for me I was more merely into the art and cinematography of the whole show. It was shown to be a really good ART which got my illustrative side and love to look at it deeply. I found the uses of tints in the coloring as perfect! I really enjoyed staring at how they were colored in with the lighting and shadows which made it a bit more enjoyable to look at. The Art direction, cinematography and choreography for the series are very well done. So I agreed on that which is what I always look for anyway unless it had a epic story-line!

So overall my conclusion to this series was, I loved the animation due to Madhouse! which was bang on! I really loved the colours and stylish techniques used for the anime! I loved loved the GORE in this show! because I like that alot and not a lot of people who like gore actually will like it and might give it a bad opinion. Although it's your typical school love drama it did entertain me! I loved the fighting moments the gangs had the group one's were awesome, and like I said it's not your walking dead or shaun of the dead unique but it was a unique show to consider to watch. I found it really good at some points until it failed to deliver to me and I know what people may agree or disagree but honestly speaking I wasn't too sure with the end. Of course we have to keep in mind that there is a manga ongoing! But honestly speaking what other unique things could it turn out for a zombie apocalypse story like this? I always wondered that.  You can have too much with a horror-esque style anime for how long? That's what I wanted to know will it continue to give me more or less and I honestly think it will be less because what twist and turns could you do to a show like this? Not a lot believe me unless otherwise. So take that into consideration of a review :)

You can tell the Anime was made for fun and something entertaining nothing too serious and yes I have read the manga to actually formulate an opinion on it. Everyone is entitled to their own but we all gotta look at the flaws you know, not everything can be the best of the show. So here is mine, I really liked it to a fun sense and I enjoyed that but I wasn't too sure if I would re-watch it again. It was slightly above average for me not just there yet but if it continues and picks up again I might change my opinion. I just based it off what I gathered from the manga and anime which probably isn't alot but it's enough to gather where it might lead to if its not so cliched that is.

Also added note I really enjoyed the music! I thought that was the highlight of the show to me the music for the background esp the fight's were really diverse to the scene and I liked that. I also enjoyed the opening and ending to it so high points for that at least they knew what song's were good to place, so thumbs up! So don't bash me or others opinions I agreed and disagreed so for me it's a middle feeling of it all.

So here I will leave with some songs :)

This is my Favorite ending of all the endings and there's like 13 of them! :O They are all good but I enjoyed this one :)
