PostHeaderIcon Marmalade Boy - Wataru Yoshizumi

Miki Koishikawa's ordinary life as a high school sophomore is turned upside down when her parents suddenly announce that they are getting divorced in order to swap partners with a couple they met in Hawaii. They seek her approval of the shocking change, and at a dinner where Miki meets the other couple as well as their son Yuu, who is about her age, she reluctantly agrees to the arrangement. Yuu, while at first a jerk who takes every opportunity to make fun of Miki, turns out to be fun and attractive, and Miki finds herself falling for him. Little by little, she accepts her new family arrangement, and opens up to Yuu as they become friends.

Ok so I know alot of people may know this anime! It's pretty straightforward with the storyline and so forth! So I know I wont go into too much detail with this show because I am sure alot of people already know and have probably read it as well.

So I was re watching my anime's once again, and this is one of them that popped up! Boy was it nostalgic to watch this again. I loved the music, characters and the story. I had some issues with the style haha but then again its a old anime with a funky style so it suited it no matter what. And please if you want to watch this anime nice and clean! Watch it in SUBS! not dub! as it sucks as dubs no offence! But the voice actors and actresses for the anime in jap are super awesome! and not annoying Miki even sounds super cute when shes irritating! haha!

Well, how do I begin. The story focuses on things that not a lot of normal people have seen. As in swapping spouses randomly but if you go deeper into the story, the parents failed to mention that they had known each other long before and got married to someone else to avoid the break ups. It was weird watching them be all happy I kinda understand what Miki wanted to say. But it felt like they were pressuring here and she gave in but she did wish that if they were happy they were. The only problem for Miki and Yuu was the relationship I mean technically not really siblings at all. So there was a huggeee amount of secrets in the show. I enjoyed the trouble and jealousy of the main characters. I liked how everyone wanted to interfere and they did and how in the end Yuu forgave Miki or Miki forgives Yuu. But it seemed like Miki was always the one who continued to give it her all and Yuu just seemed lazy in some aspect.

Nonetheless, Yuu was really in love with Miki, if you have seen the Movie that is the way Yuu first noticed Miki in the first place and fell in love well before her parents went on holiday. There was a forbidden aspect to it with the student teacher relationship and Miki bless her soul even though she tries to help it seems like not a lot of people consider that. So there was alot of misunderstanding and turmoil in the show which is perfect for a shoujo! I am sure everyone will enjoy a little romantic comedy with a lot of impossible problems to solve. I loved the end where Miki matured and had left Yuu who by then was troubled I loved seeing him troubled because of her and didnt do much. That was so sweet! His face showed it all and he really cared for Miki but Miki had changed everything but in the end we find out that they do get together!

Overall, This is a awesome show with a lot of cute points! and awesome storyline! The manga is completely but not a lot different from the anime! So don't worry but I liked reading it before I watched it. Some people are different! So make sure to tell me what you thought of this show! I totally love love love it! and always will one of the most nostalgic anime ever to me! I get so happy watching it and the music on the show is amazing too so pretty!

So give it a go, I shall leave you with some music!
